Idd short but powerful. It was the 1st climb in the Gran Fondo Rosa 2026 after 5km, so still fresh. The only tricky thing is that you have to make a right-angled turn to start it, so you lose some of your speed, also because you can't see if anyone is coming down.... read more

Beautiful climb out of the valley of the Lower Rhine. Quite a calf bite , at the top it flattens out again a bit. Nice tarmac, not crowded.

Short but powerful. Does lose out to alternatives like the Holleweg and Italiaanseweg.

Steep section and in a nice bend, but too short to really call it a climb

Especially with the approach from the east, it is not really a real climb: it soon returns to flat and is too short to really hurt. Perfect tarmac, though, and always fun to tackle, especially in combination with the Holleweg (longer and steeper) and Italian road (spicy up to the hairpin bend and made interesting by the scenery and cobbles).

Typical Dutch bump in the road. For a trained cyclist, it should be nothing more than an exaggerated speed bump. If you're picking up the Holleweg and the Italiaanseweg anyway, you might as well take this one with you

Nice fierce climb, especially for this area. Is short enough that you can bang on to the top without your legs souring. Perfect asphalt. Yet the Holleweg and the Italiaanseweg offer more challenge, especially as they are longer.

For a simple tour cyclist like myself, it is a bit tough, especially if you think about it at the end and then say, "You know what, I'll just do it".) Nice to tick off the list, but not inclined to make it a regular event.

Often I do not do this climb, because I rather choose the Holleweg or Italiaanseweg which are longer / nicer. But because of the high percentages it is a nice climb to do. After the climb you can turn right into the bike path towards the Oude Oosterbeekseweg where you will make even more altitude meters.

Nice to go full speed up, short enough to do that on power. It flattens pretty quickly and to my feeling it even descends a bit after the top. Not of the caliber of Holleweg or Italiaansewe as far as I am concerned.

Steep! The best is this as a descent, the curve to the left take the fonteinallee. Then a little further to the east and then the Italian Road

Steil!

Short and steep. Good wide track and smooth asphalt. Therefore
Also nice to try and reach 70km/h on the left hand side down :)

Kort en lekker steil. Goed brede baan en glad asfalt. Daarom

Delicious climb, which can be crashed from the foot. Because of the two different approach routes, it can also be used as a sprint training course.
