The climb starts at Tielt town hall. A new road surface has been laid, so it bolts well. There is always traffic here.
In the distance, you can see Blereberg going up. It seems to be steep.
The real climb starts at the junction with Optielt. There it starts going up a bit more. From then on, you enter a new, beautiful cycle path separated from the carriageway so you can desist in peace and quiet and not obstruct any vehicles.
Nowhere is the climb steep, but it keeps going. Even though you think the steepest part is done, it's on. But then another few hundred metres of descent follow with a sort of spur.
The climb doesn't really suit me and I always face it very hard. So I usually take an alternative route so I don't have to do the Blereberg.

It looks more difficult than it is, that's for sure. But it is long, the bike path doesn't curve at all, and there are many like it in the region. I rode it once in a novice race. Every lap there was a sprint upwards (because the bonus was at the top). Since then I have called him a celebrity in the region. Because I can assure you: it hurts. To die!

Doodgaan!

You can see a wall from afar but you can't call it heavy. The bike path is in pretty bad shape.
