The view from the street "Beukenberg" is impressive when coming from the street Jean-Baptiste Vanpé: one has the vision of an almost vertical wall in appearance! Fortunately, this is an optical illusion: although this Beukenberg is indeed steep, it is much less so than the neighboring rue du Mystère, which can be climbed immediately afterwards by going down avenue du Globe.

Here the hardest gradients come into play in a narrow street that was once known as the Black Wall. Less than ten years ago it was still paved, but today the surface is very good.
