5.0 by Lucas_DA real challenge! And what a wonderful scenery! Although it's short, this climb is as steep and as irregular as it gets. As soon as you turn right and exit the Departementale road towards the route des cretes, you face a 14% wall that will burn your legs in a few minutes, even more so during Cassis' hot summers. Then a short flat section, and then another wall with 18% sections. Thankfully, the last 1.5 kilometers are much easier, and the view from the top is astonishing, especial... read more

Thankfully, the last 1.5 kilometers are much easier, and the view from the top is astonishing, especially at sunrise and sunset times. The descent can be quite scary in the steepest parts, but the tarmac is in decent condition.
Steep and beautiful! A real challenge, the counter sometimes reads 20%! I climbed it at the end of June, and the heat nearly got the better of me, so bring several water bottles because there are no water points until you reach La Ciotat. There are superb views of the sea and the Frioul islands all along the way. The road is often closed at the height of summer when leaving Cassis. The tarmac is in good condition.
