A deflagration climb. Very hard exposed to the sun and there is no water the fountains present are all marked non-drinkable. Impressive the view of the serpentine of hairpin bends makes you realise what awaits you. I don't know if it's good. You have to take it slowly you climb anyway with a good effort.
Very tough both uphill and downhill as you hang on the brakes, I believe it is also the scene of annual rally races. In five minutes you are out of traffic and climbing in peace.
Really tough climb of the kind that gives you no respite. Always well above 12% it must be taken with a lot of respect. The view of the hairpin bends from the bottom upwards is daunting, so it's best to look ahead and not overdo it, otherwise you're bound to get stuck. For people like me who are heavy, you have to handle it well and it takes good training. Bring water because the various fountains are not drinkable and there is nothing else. In summer, it is exposed to the sun.
Per chi come me è pesante bisogna gestire bene e ci vuole buon allenamento.
Between Varese and Lugano I consider it the most gruelling climb. Exposed to the sun in June, the uphill section hardly allows you to sit down. A constant double-digit climb. A few drinking fountains on the way up, but not drinkable. So steep that stopping and starting again would be very difficult anyway. Highly recommended, easily comparable to the Mortirolo. Once you have reached the top, the gentle climb up to M miglieglia and then down towards Magliaso is recommended. A must in the area
Un must in zona
A very pretty climb, in just a few minutes you get away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and find yourself in a very relaxing place with many quaint little villages.
The Alpe de Huez from Lugano. Beautiful climb with many serpentines. Unfortunately there was a lot of traffic when I was there, otherwise highly recommended.
