Westbound from St Anton, you are immediately confronted with this fairly tough climb. However, the road surface is in perfect condition, the traffic generally manageable and the tunnel is not long and reasonably wide. At the start, the views are OK but the higher the better. The descent after that towards Stuben is great. A very long wide road almost continuously straight ahead. A nice reward. From St Anton starts a nice 150km lap with 2500 altimeters (Arlberg Giro).
