After the Albula & Julier tour, we started this climb from Tiefencastel. With about 100 km in the legs, this was not the best idea. The road to first Mon and then Stierva is beautiful, but already gives a taste of what is to come. From Stierva, you dive into the alpine meadows and solitude, and six to seven gruelling kilometres follow. Struggling is the least of it at this stage.
