Short and not too difficult climb on the road from the centre of Beek towards Schimmert. The climb starts on Brugstraat and via the roundabout you go straight ahead. Steepest part is from the roundabout to a bit after passing the garden centre. The top is at the exit to Beekerveld.
Korte en niet te moeilijke klim op de weg vanuit het centrum van Beek richting Schimmert. De klim begint op de Brugstraat en via de rotonde ga je rechtdoor. Steilste stuk is vanaf de rotonde tot een stukje na passage van het tuincentrum. De top ligt bij de afslag naar Beekerveld.
A classic incline from the Amstel Gold Race. But it's not a climb that stays with you or requires a big diversions. On a fairly wide road, or the cycle path next to it, you ride out of the village of Beek. You have to bite on the steepest parts. Then it levels off and you're out of the village. It is nice to cycle on towards Schimmert, past the Sint Hubertusmolen.
Een klassieke helling uit de Amstel Gold Race. Maar het is geen klim die je bij blijft of waarvoor je een grote omweg hoeft te maken. Over een vrij brede weg, of het fietspad daarnaast, rijd je het dorpje Beek uit. Even doorbijten op de steilste stroken. Daarna vlakt het af en ben je het dorp uit. Het is mooi om nog even door te fietsen richting Schimmert, langs de Sint Hubertusmolen.
A climb with a quiet approach and exit and with a short but nice part in between. The biggest part is on a bicycle lane, further it becomes a loose bike path. Busy road but no cars. Looking back (or in the descent) good view on Beek and the industrial area Chemelot near Geleen.
Een klim met een rustige aan- en uitloop en met een wat kort maar wel lekker tussenstukje. Het grootste deel deel loopt over een fietsstrook, verder wordt het een los fietspad. Drukke weg maar geen last gehad van auto's. Achterom kijkend (of in de afdaling) goed uitzicht op Beek en het industrieterrein Chemelot bij Geleen.
Nice warming-up for the heavier Limburg work, but otherwise not much special. The road is busy and the neighbouring motorists drive fast, so watch out.
Mooie opwarmer voor het zwaardere Limburgse werk, maar verder niet veel bijzonders. De weg is druk en de naburige automobilisten rijden hard, dus kijk goed uit.
Beautiful wide road where you can enjoy with good legs "bang". Unfortunately often a lot of traffic. At the top I almost always take the Beekerveld on the right, a beautiful quiet road towards Kelmond. That is nicer cycling than the busy through road towards Schimmert where I don't always feel safe because of the - sometimes raging - traffic.
Mooie brede weg waar je met goede benen lekker kunt "knallen". Helaas wel vaak veel verkeer. Op de top pak ik bijna altijd rechts de Beekerveld, een prachtig rustig weggetje richting Kelmond. Dat is fijner fietsen dan de drukke doorgaande weg richting Schimmert waar ik me door het - soms razend - verkeer niet altijd veilig voel.
If I go cycling in Limburg, I often park in Beek. Adsteeg is then standard the first climb, nice to get right into it. Wouldn't make detours if I started somewhere else.
Als ik in Limburg ga fietsen, parkeer ik vaak in Beek. Adsteeg is dan standaard de eerste beklimming, leuk om er gelijk in te komen. Zou er niet voor omrijden als ik ergens anders begon
The Adsteeg looks a bit like the Cauberg. A wide (and yet busy) road. The Adsteeg is short but powerful. It is best to go full speed ahead. When you are almost at the top you have to take the bicycle path on the right side.
De Adsteeg lijkt een beetje op de Cauberg. Een brede (en toch wel drukke) weg. De Adsteeg is kort maar krachtig. Het beste kan je er vol overheen kletsen. Als je bijna boven bent moet je aan de rechterkant het fietspad nemen.

In the beginning the bike path is not separated yet and a lot of traffic is passing by.
According to some sources the top of the Adsteeg is situated at the wind mill/cafeteria, a few hundred meters further on. These hundreds of meters are somewhat sloping with at the end a slight kink.

In het begin ligt het fietspad nog niet afgescheiden en passeert er toch veel verkeer.
Volgens sommige bronnen zou de top van de Adsteeg aan de windmolen/cafetaria, enkele honderden meters verder, liggen. Deze honderden meters zijn wat glooiend met op het einde nog een lichte knik.
