With so many well known climbs in the immediate area the climb of Wigan's lane is often overlooked, However it's an unsung classic and is worth the effort. Unlike many of the climbs along the Chiltern Escarpment there is very little woodland, and you have good views across towards the Whiteleaf area nearly all the way up. The views at the top from the Bledlow Ridge road are also excellent, and it's a good route down to West Wycombe as well. The gradient is easy until the top part, where some digging in is required, but overall it's a rewarding climb.
