Wonderful bit of climbing, especially because of the scenery. Is in itself mostly false flat so nothing difficult about it but the scenery makes it worthwhile.
Prachtig stukje klimmen, vooral vanwege de omgeving. Is op zich vooral vals plat en dus niks moeilijk aan maar de omgeving maakt het de moeite waard.
Beautiful hidden and for many unknown climb of over 2 kilometres in the outlying area between Meerssen and Ulestraten. The climb itself is not really exciting but the scenery you ride through is more than worth it. For that reason alone, you should have ridden this one once.
Mooie verborgen en voor velen onbekende klim van ruim 2 kilometer in het buitengebied tussen Meerssen en Ulestraten. De klim zelf is niet echt spannend maar de omgeving waar je door rijdt is meer dan de moeite waard. Alleen daarom moet je deze een keer gereden hebben.
A jewel of a road, in terms of climbing, no one will lose sleep over this but the scenery will surprise you. You really feel like you're abroad. It was so beautiful there that I forgot to take photos😅
Een juweel van een weg, qua klimwerk zal niemand hier wakker van liggen maar het landschap zal je verrassen. Je waant je echt in het buitenland. Het was er zo fraai dat ik vergeten ben om foto’s te maken😅
The climb seems to feel heavier than indicated but I had done the Wijngaardsberg just before so that might make a difference. Nevertheless, as a climb it is not really much. In the beginning, the road goes up and down a bit and you do climb. Then follows a slightly rising road and towards the end there is really some life in it where you see the road rising nicely to the left.
Still 4 stars, because what a beautiful environment and what a beautiful road. Very unexpected in this part of Limburg. For that reason alone, it is really enjoyable to drive here.
De klim lijkt zwaarder te voelen dan aangegeven maar ik had pal hiervoor de Wijngaardsberg gedaan dus dat kan schelen. Evengoed is het als klim niet echt veel. In het begin golft de weg wat op en neer waarbij je wel stijgt. Daarna volgt een licht stijgende weg en tegen het eind komt er pas echt wat leven in waarbij je de weg mooi naar links omhoog ziet stijgen.
Toch 4 sterren, want wat een prachtige omgeving en wat een mooi weggetje. Heel onverwacht in dit deel van Limburg. Alleen daarom al is het echt genieten om hier te rijden.

Beautiful and relatively unknown piece of Limburg that you should definitely take if you're in the neighborhood. Do not forget the visweg (and possibly the biesenberg) to drive.

Mooi en relatief onbekend stukje Limburg dat je zeker even mee moet pakken als je in de buurt bent. Vergeet dan zeker niet ook over de visweg (en eventueel de biesenberg) te rijden.

A waterfall you will not find, but by 'falling water' is here over the centuries a unique valley created. Also unique in this area is the wine that has a long history. Presumably, the Romans who brought viticulture here. The vineyards against and on the slopes immediately stand out.
Gewoon doen! Niet om te klimmen, maar wel om te genieten van de prachtige omgeving. Dit is met recht een verborgen juweeltje. Een waterval vind je niet, maar door 'vallend water' is hier door de eeuwen heen een uniek dal ontstaan. Ook uniek in dit gebied is de wijnbouw die een lange geschiedenis kent. Vermoedelijk zijn het de Romeinen die de wijnbouw hier naartoe hebben gebracht. De wijngaarden tegen en op de hellingen springen gelijk in het oog.
Beautiful and unexpected 'valley'climb in the north of southern Limburg. No waterfall seen but a nice road surface which rises gradually, with a beautiful finale.
Prachtige en onverwachte 'vallei' klim in het noorden van Zuid-Limburg. Geen waterval gezien maar een mooi wegdek die geleidelijk stijgt, met een fraaie finale.
Only the last few hundred meters is really climbing, but the way there is just beautiful. Meandering road, forest, half-timbered house and that through a relatively narrow valley make this worth a detour.
Alleen de laatste paar honderd meter is echt klimmen, maar de weg daar naar toe is gewoon mooi. Slingerende weg, bos, vakwerkhuis en dat door een relatief nauw dal maken dit wel een omweg waard.
The climb is not so much. But it is a very beautiful road. No traffic and no crowds, but pure nature. If you come there on a sunny day, you get the feeling you're in France.
De klim stelt niet zo veel voor. Wel is het een heel mooi weggetje. Geen last van verkeer en drukte, maar puur natuur. Als je daar op een zonnige dag komt, krijg je het gevoel alsof je in Frankrijk bent.
Not much of a climb, but through a scenic valley with a picturesque village with a vineyard, fruit trees and hillside forests. Definitely worthwhile including in a cycle route. Excellent road surface.
Stelt als klim niet veel voor, maar is door een landschappelijk prachtig dal met een pittoresk dorpje met een wijngaard, fruitbomen en hellingbossen. Zeker de moeite om dit in een fietsroute op te nemen. Prima wegdek.
