This is a splendid variant of the Via Monti climb, with which it shares the very hard first half. After the hairpin bends, just near one of the last, Via Olivari comes into view on the right, a rather pleasant option because it is visibly less steep than the main road. After a falsopiano or downhill section characterised by a narrow roadway and asphalt in poor condition, the road finally goes uphill again, with a few hairpin bends that are not at all easy. But the most beautiful feature is the contour: you are surrounded by beautiful olive groves, alternating with a stupendous panorama. The ascent is a marvellous grey strip that climbs up through the trees, particularly along two hundred metres that I could christen "the tunnel of the olive trees", in which the plants actually bend down to form the roof of the path and make it the most beautiful segment. You then arrive at a beautifully situated farmhouse, where the road is no longer asphalted. From there you can continue along other almost flat roads and arrive at the summit at that point rested.
For me it is a splendid climb, one of the most beautiful in the area.
