Salita fra le più dure del Montalbano, si può scalare come alternativa alla strada che passa per il paese di Cecina. Dal punto di vista paesaggistico ha molto da offrire: la strada si snoda sulle tipiche colline coperte di oliveti e sono diversi i punti panoramici lungo di essa. Generalmente è poco trafficata. Poco dopo la svolta in via Pozzuolo si incontra la prima rampa, lunga circa 600 m, che si attesta intorno al 9%. Nella breve discesa che segue è fondamentale prendere fiato, visto che la rampa successiva è la più dura di tutte. Nei circa 800 m che portano all'incrocio con via Crocina si ha un aumento continuo della pendenza fino al 20%, dopodiché questa rimane in doppia cifra per altri 600 m, senza dar modo di recuperare. Un'ultimo tratto di quiete conduce infine all'ultimo strappo, stavolta meno impegnativo. Consigliata se si amano le alte pendenze.
