Nice climb without extremes and with, once in the Venter valley, hardly any traffic. At the end point your body can get used to the 2000 meter limit. Was my "in cycling" and warming up climb when I stayed for a cycling & walking holiday in the well known Austrian ski resort Sölden, which also has some challenging cycling possibilities in summer.... read more

After climbing the Timmelsjoch, there was still some energy in the legs. This made the decision to turn left at Zwieselstein to contemplate the Ventertal. The valley is beautiful, the road is okay and traffic is virtually non-existent (unlike the Timmelsjoch). At times you imagine yourself all alone (climbed in late June). The ascent can be a bit erratic, but is doable. Vent is also a great village for a lunch break.

Driving to Austria especially for this seems a bit too much, but in combination with the Timmelsjoch it is definitely recommended!

Lovely and quiet climb in a secluded valley above Solden. Ideal as a warm-up for the annual ORM.

Nice climb. Straight ahead. Random course. Sometimes false flat to easy going. Now and then a piece in the direction of 10 - 11.
Many waterfalls on the route.
If you ride to the end of the climbfinder segment, a few kilometers past Vent on a path towards a pension.
Everything is nicely paved, except on the day I rode it, they were renewing a piece of road.
There are some smaller tunnels on the route, and one very long one that alternates between everything gallery and fully closed tunnel. Everything is well lit, but I would still recommend a flashing tail light.

Leuke klim. rechtoe rechtaan. Grillig verloop.

Was my "in cycling" and warming up climb when I stayed for a cycling & walking holiday in the well known Austrian ski resort Sölden, which also has some challenging cycling possibilities in summer.
