This is a beautiful climb. It is a dead-end road so you hardly encounter any traffic. The tarmac is not always fantastic but good enough. Just watch out for any potholes on the descent. As you ride out of the valley in Grosino, you have to tackle it immediately and it gets quite steep. I would advise anyone wanting to do the climb to make sure you have a GPS track with the correct route. In the village it is not always clear what the main road is. If, as with me, your gps calculates a 'shortcut' you may just end up on a road of 20-25% climbs. Those are forces better saved for later. Once you leave the village you immediately have a beautiful view of the main valley. After a few kilometres you enter the Grosina valley and your perspective changes completely as you are back on the bottom instead of the flanks. The road here is very varied and it is sometimes difficult to find a rhythm as the gradient is very irregular. The summit, which is not really a summit as you could go much further by MTB, is a nice bonus. You end up in a typical cirque at a refugio that serves delicious (well-deserved) pastries.

climb done in combination with the beautiful ascent to the malghera hut. the 2 climbs share the first part from grosio of around 6 km that starts immediately with challenging sections and arrives at fusino where the grosina valley forks. to the right you go towards the malga eita. Irregular climb just like the one to malghera with flat or gently sloping sections and very challenging walls with gradients up to 18%...I liked this part of the valley less, more closed and a little more touristy, but at the top it offers beautiful views. asphalt always in good condition and water at the top and along the route.

It is a beautiful, very quiet climb that you do not just drive up. The road is good except for 1 kilometre about 3 Km before the top. In the village of Grosio you go up with a number of hairpin bends through the village, then you turn slowly against the mountain wall into the Grosina valley. From there, there is almost no traffic. From there it is definitely not a runner. Almost flat alternates with parts of 10%. Along the lake it goes up and down, but on average it goes up. At the end of the village you cross a small bridge and from there the real work starts. The gradients vary between 4 and 12%. You are now cycling through the forest. The last kilometre is less steep. There is a church there and a few houses.
