Beautiful climb in terms of scenery and the road surface is good. If you are looking for a longer and friendly climb, this is one to take :) It does end on a busy through road but you have to take that for granted
Mooie beklimming qua omgeving en het wegdek is goed. Als je op zoek bent naar een langere en vriendelijke beklimming dan is dit er eentje om mee te nemen :) Hij eindigt wel op een drukke doorgaande weg maar dat moet je maar even voor lief nemen
One of the beautiful and longer climbs near Aubel. Descending from Aubel via Old Mother, the climb starts at the point where the Berwinne flows under the road. For the most part, the climb runs just fine. Only on the sections from 4％ upwards do you have to pedal harder. During the climb, look around and enjoy the view. When you arrive at the Chausée de Liège and think you're there... unfortunately, the climb continues up to the first houses of Henri-Chapelle.
Eén van de mooie en langere beklimmingen in de buurt van Aubel. Als je vanuit Aubel afdaalt via Oude Moeder begint de klim op het punt waar de Berwinne onder de weg doorstroomt. Voor het overgrote deel loopt de klim gewoon lekker. Alleen op de stukken vanaf 4％ stijging moet je steviger doortrappen. Kijk gedurende de klim vooral veel rond je heen en geniet van het uitzicht. Als je op de Chausée de Liège bent aangekomen en denkt dat je er bent...helaas want de klim loopt nog door tot aan de eerste huizen van Henri-Chapelle.
A very nice climb through a beautiful landscape. If you come riding from Aubel you see the water tower (the end point) already high on the ridge opposite you. Starting at the bridge over La Berwinne, a steep bit after which it becomes much flatter. On the concrete road (which soon turns into asphalt) turn left after which the altimeters come, although the percentage varies considerably. Always beautiful views of the surrounding hills. Eventually you come to the foot of the spine and the road goes through a nice hairpin curve (always beautiful views) and at the end a small descent to the main road. Substantially uphill until the first bend and then it is off to the highest point just past the water tower.
Overall quite reasonable tarmac and lovely quiet roads.
Een heel fraaie klim door een mooi landschap. Als je vanuit Aubel aan komt rijden zie je de watertoren (het eindpunt) al hoog op de heuvelrug tegenover je staan en gedurende de klim zal je deze ook vaak in beeld hebben. Beginnende bij de brug over La Berwinne even een steil stukje waarna het veel vlakker wordt. Op de betonweg (die alweer snel overgaat in asfalt) linksaf waarna de hoogtemeters weer gaan komen, al wisselt het percentage behoorlijk. Steeds mooie uitzichten op de omliggende heuvelruggen. Uiteindelijk kom je aan de voet van de rug en gaat de weg via een mooie haarspeldbocht (steeds fraai uitzicht) en op het eind een kleine afdaling naar de hoofdweg. je moet hier naar links maar naar beide kanten toe zijn er goede uitzichten en de weg is niet druk. Flink stijgen tot de eerste bocht en daarna is het uitfietsen tot het hoogste punt net voorbij de watertoren.
Over het algemeen best redelijk asfalt en heerlijk rustige wegen.

Prachtige klim, zelfs in de najaars-miezer. De klim is niet moeilijk, en dat maakt hen heel okay omdat je veel uitzichtjes over de omgeving krijgt. Het wegdek is top, verkeer maar een beetje. Deze wil ik wel elke dag in mijn route…

Leuke klim door open landschap, de haarspeldbocht aan het eind maakt het toch weer extra leuk. Prima alternatief van Aubel naar Henri-Chapelle, niet alleen vanwege de hoogtemeters, maar ook omdat het hier veel rustiger is dan de weg langs de militaire begraafplaats (overigens wel een bezoek waard).
Hier loopt de klim door inclusief een stuk van de grote weg, maar een Strava segment is ook tot de grote weg omdat het soms lastig oversteken is.

Beautiful and very quiet climb south east of Aubel. The road rises in cash percetage through the meadows with at the top a real hairpin bend and ends on a busy through road. Nice view on top.
Mooie en heel rustige klim ten zuid oosten van Aubel. De weg stijgt in contant percetage door de weilanden met bovenaan een heuse haarspeld bocht en eindigt op een doorgaande drukke weg. Mooi uitzicht bovenop.
