Relaxte klim omhoog door de bebouwde kom. De weg slingert enigszins dus dat maakt het fietsen wel wat prettiger, net zoals het feit dat je over een fietsstrook met goed asfalt fietst. De eerste rotonde zorgt voor een leuke lus, bij de tweede rotonde linksaf voor de laatste hoogtemeters. Halverwege kom je langs het winkelcentrum van Heerlerheide (daar is het ook even wat steiler) met parkeerplaatsen in het midden van de weg. Daar kan het even druk zijn.
Al met al ga je niet moe worden van deze klim maar het traject is redelijk aangenaam.
