This is a really nice climb, where especially in the bends you can clearly see that it is really steep uphill after all!

Nice climb from the Dorpsstraat in Noorbeek to Ulvend. Is not really tough apart from two steeper sections. Outside the built-up area, keep left at the first junction. This keeps you on normally paved roads. (If you go straight on, it becomes a kind of gravel road). Then turn sharp right at the junction with Vroelenstraat. If you are in the area, this is definitely a must to do, as is the parallel Vroelenstraat.

As far as I am concerned, this is the best way to leave Noorbeek in the south. The profile is less undulating than the route because there are two short, steep pieces in between. Soon you leave the houses and enter a nice little valley. At the junction, the road turns left and climbs unexpectedly steeply. Then a flatter part and before the hairpin there is another steep part. After the hairpin bend, there is a nice bit of climbing to the farm. Then turn right and ride relaxed and with beautiful views (a.o. of the Voerstreek) to the top. Nice and varied route with good tarmac (and I had reasonably clean roads).

Just like its brother 'a street away', this is a great climb to cross the border with a minimum of difficulty. Climbs like this get very dirty with sand and gravel in the late season because of the many agricultural traffic. Apart from that a very quiet entry into Belgium.
