Nice climb through all that swerving. Runs very nicely, nowhere too steep, good road surface and not too crowded. Road surface is nice, highly recommended!
Leuke beklimming door al dat geslingerd. Loopt heel lekker, nergens te steil, goed wegdek en niet te druk. Wegdek ligt er lekker in, aanrader!

The road to Trois Épis goes mainly through the forest with quite a few hairpin bends (which are signposted!), without being very steep. The tarmac is good and it was not busy (during the week, late August).
Keep pedalling calmly and you will get to the top. The village at the end of the climb is not really bustling with life and there is nowhere a point where you can look out over the Rhine valley!
So I quickly continued on to the Col de Linge. You can also return via Niedermorschwihr. Nice little village, where two cars cannot pass each other everywhere. Quiet and nice tarmac, that way.
De weg naar Trois Épis gaat vooral door het bos met flink wat haarspeldbochten (die met borden worden aangegeven!), zonder dat het heel erg steil wordt. Het asfalt is goed en het was niet druk (doordeweek, eind augustus).
Rustig doortrappen, dan kom je vanzelf boven. Het dorp aan het eind van de klim bruist niet echt van het leven en er is nergens een punt waar je uit kunt kijken over het Rijndal!
Ik ben dus gauw doorgereden naar de Col de Linge. Terug over Niedermorschwihr kan ook. Leuk klein dorpje, waar twee auto’s elkaar niet overal kunnen passeren. Rustig en mooi asfalt, die kant op.
Al met al meer een klim voor de betere wielertoerist dan voor prestatiegedreven types die hun klimpuntenscore omhoog willen jagen.

A fine climb if you do not have much experience or at the beginning of your tour to warm up. From this side, you have quite a lot of traffic. Therefore I found this side a little less fun. Downhill on this side was also cool!
Tijdens onze vakantie heb ik Trois Epis van alle kanten beklommen. Via de grote weg vanuit Turckheim vond ik de klim eigenlijk het makkelijkst. Een fijne klim als je nog niet veel ervaring hebt of in het begin van je rondje om op warm te draaien. Vanuit deze kant heb je wel redelijk veel verkeer. Daarom vond ik deze kant wat minder leuk. Afdalen aan deze kant was overigens ook gaaf!

Prima klim voor de startende klimmers, loopt vrij constant. Prima asfalt, weinig uitzicht. Op een doordeweekse dag weinig auto's, maar er zijn beklimmingen met minder autoverkeer dan deze.
