Fine nice long climb where ideally it is a one-way road. Incidentally, the ring road around Great Olme contains many blind bends, so that is why the locals also recommend cycling the route with the traffic, as motorists do not expect oncoming traffic either. The climb has quite tough sections. On some parts, there is a lot of grit and fallen rocks on the road, so watch out! The views are extremely spectacular!!!... read more

The Marine Drive is one-way and traffic goes anticlockwise around the Great Orme headland. It's a toll raod but cyclists go free. The road clings to the edge between sea and limestone cliffs. The climb undulates but is never difficult only reaching double digits on the final short climb to a small summit car park. To reach this turn left off the Marine Drive up a concrete track 300m past the Rest and Be Thankful cafe - worth backtracking to after the climb as the cake portions are huge.
