Very beautiful and surprising ascent with stunning views of Prad valley. First kilometres are steep. Then it flattens out and you have fantastic views. Well worth doing !

Beautiful views over the valley while cycling, also in Tanas itself you have very nice views to enjoy. First kilometres give a little stelvio feeling and are gruelling, after that it runs easy(er).

Tanas is a challenging ascent. For this type of climbing, we recommend mountain gearing, specifically a compact system. This means a small front chainring of 34 teeth, combined with a rear cassette where, depending on your level, strength, and experience, you choose a sprocket with 30, 32, or even 34 teeth. Remember that a smooth cadence is always more efficient!
