The Tatzelwurmstraße is a nasty executioner up to Hummelei. It immediately starts quite steeply, initially still in the forest, but soon it leaves the forest and then the sun can burn mercilessly - until the fountain opposite the church in Wall finally provides refreshment.

This fountain is a special attraction (in my opinion), as the spring water shoots out at high pressure all year round, making it a joy to drink. So hold on tightly to the bidon and fill it up, then the water will last all the way up to the Sudelfeldpass.

Up to Tatzelwurm, the route from Wall is now more leisurely and then joins the more well-known Sudelfeldpass road, which leads up from Brannenburg and is part of the German Alpine Road. From Tatzelwurm, the road is almost luxuriously wide, but also busier.

Personally, I love driving up to the Sudelfeld Pass from Brannenburg and then from Tatzlwurm back down into the Inn Valley to Niederaudorf via the route discussed here. Why this way and not the other way round? For one thing, I enjoy the view as I ride down towards the Kaiser, and for another, I like these mini counter-climbs from Tatzlwurm, which make the descent extra interesting.

nice climb with a very steep part right after the beginning until shortly before Hummelei. Then there are some flat parts which are great to relax. Personally I favor the ascend from Brannenburg.
