The roof of the Imagna Valley! Climbing to Fuipiano, on sunny days, always makes me feel good. The Locatello side is slightly longer than the one up from Brumano, what really makes the difference between the two is the regularity. Via Locatello very smooth and steady, makes it an enjoyable climb and tackled on the downhill side is equally spectacular and very technical. The side that passes through Brumano is characterized by several changes in gradient, going from slightly downhill and uphill falsoplanes, to regular but hard parts and dry ramps (see the last two km after the village of Brumano. The finish of the climb is indicated at the so-called "Stanga," the starting place for trekking walks to the top of Resegone. If you can, stop for a tour in the delightful Contrada di Arnosto, a medieval hamlet where time seems to stand still. Whether you climb from one or the other side, the return point is the same, to S.Omobono Terme thus forming a loop tour (or rather buttonhole 😂)

Challenging climb, never ending, few stretches to rest. Not great asphalt. Little traffic, no motorbikes

Salita impegnativa, non finisce mai, pochi tratti dove rifiatare. Asfalto non bellissimo. Poco traffico, nessuna motocicletta

Not too demanding ascent, mentally seeing the little church that even though you are pedalling always remains up there does not help :-)
Very exposed to the sun except for short stretches. It is the route of an uphill bicycle race, so there is an indication of the last km on the asphalt. Little traffic. Very good asphalt due to recent works. Beautiful views of the Imagna valley. Fountain at the little church and further up in the small square. Beware, however, in winter they are closed until March. When you get to the church, it is by no means over as it climbs up again around 6% to the hamlet of Valzanega where it flattens out and the asphalt becomes much worse.

Various changes in gradient make the climb tiring and difficult. It only flattens out in the final kilometres. To be tackled with concentration and training. Beautiful views of the Imagna Valley.

Spiana solo negli ultimi chilometri. Da affrontare con concentrazione ed allenamento. Bei panorami sulla Vall'Imagna.
