Most of the roads out of Radnage involve some steep climbing, and Sprigs Holly is no exception. Once you get on the lower slopes, probably after missing the turning, you may be surprised at how steeply it kicks up. The trees are dense here so it's quite dark in there, but as soon as you ride into the light the gradient eases and the views open up, and it's an easy gradient all the way to the top. The road is very quiet, and you may be unlucky enough to see one car during the ascent. If... read more

If you approach Radnage along the narrow valley road from West Wycombe you have one of the best routes in the Chilterns, from the bottom to the top of the hills. I can't give it more than 3 stars, calibrating against nearby 4 star climbs, but it is good.
