Boring road, though nice views and good tarmac but the cars're whizzing by. Also full in the sun

Honestly surprised by some of the reviews on this one. Traffic is a little heavier than some of the other nearby cols. but you get great views of Grenoble and once you get over the climb you’ll be in the Vercours which are truly beautiful. This is a great option to do on a quieter day during an alpine cycling trip between days of serious climbing.

This road is very busy and not of major tourist interest. If you're coming up into the Vercors from Grenoble, it's best to take the ascent from Seyssin or Seysinnet.

Big, wide road with lots of traffic. The easiest way to enter the Vercors but not pleasant. The first part you cycle in the flat sun anyway, then some nice bits in the valley and then nice views once you reach the plateau.

This long and wide monotonous and not very steep boulevard is until Lans-en-Vercors the main road access to the plateau of Lans and to the interior of the massif. It is therefore very frequented by motor vehicles and should be avoided during rush hour and during major tourist migrations... Unlike the neighbouring Saint-Nizier climb, this one does not offer any particularly spectacular viewpoints. On the other hand, due to its gentle slopes, it is a suitable climb for those who are new to mountain biking.

If the bike is solid and equipped with big tires, like "gravel", once you arrive at the Croix-Perrin pass (a welcoming inn) you can continue to the right on a forest road, unfortunately very degraded at the moment, towards the place called La Molière, about ten kilometers further, the highest road point of the Vercors (about 1600 m of altitude) with a view going up to the Mont Blanc. You can then go back down to the Mortier tunnel and Autrans.
