Pay attention during the approach and the course of this mountain! First you ride over 2 pairs of tram rails, then the first part of the climb is very bad road surface with many pits (filled or not). The street you pass after this part has to give way to the right, so you might have to stop here for a while. Also have the feeling that the middle of this climb is steeper than indicated here.... read more

Surely steeper than this graph indicates, especially if you take it downhill it is descending with egg in your trousers. You pass the famous Blandijnberg on the side and the Bluesette where quizzes are often organised.

It runs uphill but there is little cycling fun here. You first pass a busy intersection where you have to watch your back. Then the climb itself a rather ugly street. On the left, you do briefly see (part of) St Peter's Church. When you get to the top, you don't really have good options for continuing on. You're in Ghent's entertainment district anyway, with the risk of glass on the road.

Indeed, I share your opinion that the percentages are higher than indicated here. I did this climb every day for 4 years on the way back from the Coupure to my kot, so I still feel them in the legs!
