Pedalable climb is quite smooth, breathtaking views, absolutely worth it!
An ascent definitely worth doing, both for the final panorama and for the perfect asphalt in the last few kilometres. From an altitude of 1000m you enter a beautiful forest with very little traffic. Fountains both at Castiglione di Intelvi on the right (opposite Cinzia Shopping) and at Lanzo on the Sperimborgo square
I started directly from Argegno (junction for Scichignano) and continued through San Fedele d'Intelvi to Balcone d'Italia. The first part is very nice, a road with little traffic and quiet and you arrive at Castiglioni d'Intelvi, with an average gradient of 7%; then from there to Lanzo d'Intelvi is a provincial road that is a little boring and busy with an average gradient of 5/6%. The last 5 km, on the other hand, are very beautiful and with a higher average. So from Argegno it is about 26 km. The time shown below is that of the last 5 km. PS: going down to Argegno, go as far as Ossuccio: there is a peculiar bell tower on the lakeside. PS2: very busy lakeside road.
Beautiful climb with enchanting views. Very strange that the end point is hardly signposted along the way, or maybe just as well because as a result we hardly had any traffic during the ascent. The forest provides wonderful cooling along the way. Especially the last 2 kilometres, the road surface is abominable at times, so watch out on the descent!
One of the most beautiful panoramas you can admire in Lombardy, with a view of Lake Lugano.
Not perfect asphalt, be careful going downhill
Cheers
