This is a nasty climb, as you climb continuously from Quintal and often quite steeply. Most of it you ride through a forest and you have to love that (I don't). About three kilometres before the col, the landscape suddenly opens up and the views from the col to the east, over Lake Annecy and Mont Blanc I don't expect to forget in a hurry. The road is fine and not too busy. No groups of motorcyclists standing near the summit pretending that keeping your throttle open for 10km is a top p... read more

It's a steep climb all the way, so don't overestimate your strength. When you reach the top, you'll be treated to a magnificent view of Lake Annecy and Mont Blanc.

The climb between Vieugy and the D41 is not interesting, except for the difference in altitude. Because after Quintal it goes up!
The arrival at the top of Semnoz is always magnificent
