A beautiful and varied climb with a terrible (but in a positive sense... though?) bouncer. A beautiful and varied climb with a terrible (but in a positive sense... though?) bouncer. From the imposing castle of Untermaubach, it goes past some half-timbered houses out of the village and the road follows a very pretty little valley. In Bogheim, the road meandered a bit through the village until you reach the final chord: A small road runs along a meadow up the slope. Doable at first, but after the left turn, the percentages soon go to the absurd with some bits really well above 20 per cent. The last few dozen metres (but it is still a hell of a job to cover them) are a dead end and end just before a viewpoint with a bench. The view is a nice reward. Amazingly, the tarmac is fine, even in the last stretch. In Bogheim, there are a few cobbled stretches but they are fine.
