Splendid "muretto" leading from Rodero to Colle di San Maffeo, with superb panoramic views of the Lanza Valley, Mendrisiotto and the Alps (Monte Generoso and Montagne Comasche). The ascent is relatively short and has even considerable gradients towards the end (up to 18%), fortunately for short stretches on the concrete track. The climb has about 150 m of porphyry (from the barrier) and 200 m of gravel that can be a nuisance with mountain bikes due to skidding, but fortunately it coincides with the less steep section.
At the top, there is a small church, a tower and medieval remains of fortifications, as well as a stone memorial stone that is a little gloomy as it represents a skull. The ascent is not recommended in autumn due to the bed of foliage and debris covering the concrete section at the most extreme slopes. At the top, there are no drinking fountains but plenty of benches for relaxing in the sun and a nice green meadow for lying down to regain strength.
