Challenging ascent in the first and last parts with a quiet middle section of around 2 km.
Out of the forest, wonderful views over the Vinschgau valley to the finish in Riolagundo.

Climb to one of the small villages high atop the southern flank of the wide Adige valley .
After cycling across this river and the railway, a 16% traffic sign warns you that the climbing route is straight ahead to climb up the forest flank with several hairpin turns.
After the right-hand turn, there is a brief recuperation plateau before continuing to climb up among the trees, sporadic single farms and panoramic views over the valley where you left off.
You oversee the Adige river as a central vein flanked by the road towards Reschenpass through numerous small villages and the vast areas of vineyards and apple orchards for which the region is famous. The snow-capped peaks of the Texel Mountains on the other side also catch the eye.
In the final part of the climb, a final series of hairpin bends finally brings you to the small final village with a few houses/farms around the church tower .
After the CF terminus thv the Aschbacherhof (food&drink) you can continue past the cable lift terminus for one more final hairpin turn to end up at the top of the village where the asphalt turns into forest road.

practical:
As of the turn-off, (June 2024) there was hardly any traffic on the narrow road. Lots of patched asphalt on the entire route. Due to uninhabited, provisioning is only possible at the terminus. Start in Tel/Töll accessible via car-free cycle route from two directions (Merano/Reschensee).

Wonderfully challenging climb to one of the lonely villages
on the valley flank!
