A very nice climb to the Ashridge plateau. There are steeper climbs up to the plateau, but the gradient of this one is pretty consistent and you can really dig in and try to hold a cadence. It's a rewarding climb. When the consistent 4% gradient finally eases you can speed up as you ride past some beautiful woodland, and then swing round the left hand bend and put in a final punch to the summit. After that you're into Ashridge proper, and you have a choice of great routes to continue your ride.
