One of the many side valleys of the big Eisack valley near the bilingual tourist Sterzing/Vipiteno at the Italian side of the Brenner Pass, where I stayed for a cycling & hiking holiday. Flat approach via busy road with some roundabouts from Vipiteno via Gasteig/Casateia to the start of the climb in Stange/Stanghe. Initially a slightly ascending road with gentle curves following the course of the Ridanna river upstream, in a wide green valley surrounded by snow-covered mountain ranges. Afte... read more

After the village of Ridnaun/Ridanna the path descends slightly and, after a final kilometre, climbs slightly again to end at the dead end at the Bergbau Welt Museüm just outside Maiern/Masseria.

Ideal warming up for more solid cycling work on the Jaufenpass and Penser Joch!
