From 600m upwards, the road was empty, I didn't meet anyone, only at the top a motorcyclist. Great climb, silence and no car traffic.... read more

My favorite climb in the Malaga area. You really get a sense of climbing up the rock face. It’s a good climb for training, mostly even with only a handful of sharp hairpins. There is very little traffic once you pass Periana. The road quality is fine for climbing, but not amazing. I prefer to descend on the other side, down into Alfarnate, where you can enjoy a peaceful village.

Nice climb in two parts, both with fairly even gradients. Very little traffic and good surface.

I last rode the route in 2023 and my memory is nothing but good. There was almost no car traffic and the road surface was excellent. If you don't fancy a lot of motorized traffic, you should definitely drive up here, the ascent to Ventas de Zafarraya is certainly also worthwhile in terms of pure driving, but this is the main traffic road to the plateau.

Nice gentle climb, unfortunately done in the rain so I could enjoy the views less. Spotted a nice rainbow though!
