First 8 km nothing special, then it gets fun and you're really climbing. Crossing through this sierra on a Gravelbike over the unbeaten paths is totally a treat. Highly recommended.... read more

Eerste 8 km niet bijzonder, daarna wordt het leuk en ben je echt aan het klimmen. Een doorsteek door deze Siërra op een Gravelbike over de niet gebaande paden is helemaal een feest. Echt een aanrader.

I have done this a few times and find it harder than the cat2s and 1s I have done. That must be because I have probably done more hours before I get to this one, and the 12k just seems to go on and on. Also, Montanejos has a great river bathing spot, and cycling after swimming, well, I am no triathlete. The road surface is generally good and there is very little traffic. A couple of sweeping steepish curves towards the top. Great views on descent. Photos are the river at Montanejos, Caudiel at the bottom of the descent, and wild irises on an adjacent route. Apologies one photo of nearby Puerto de Chirivilla and cannot seem to delete.
