This one is characterised by a steeper start and a gradual roll off. It goes up between hedges most of the way but there are a couple of places where the views open up nicely. It's definitely worth detouring to this climb from any of the Hemel climbs. There can be traffic, but it's still light. Surface is generally ok, with very limited gravel and potholes.
It works well in combination with descents from the Bovingdon side, when travelling south to north.
