This is a climb I haven't done for many years, so I'd forgotten what a decent climb it is. The short climb up through South Wingfield got the lungs going and climbing legs moving before the right turn on to Inns Lane where the climb starts. The first mile or so to the White Hart (which I highly recommend by the way) is a gentle incline requiring little effort. It then kicks up after here, requiring a few efforts out of the saddle. Once at the top you have the choice of a left turn to Crich Monument or right towards Tansley. Both options offer cracking views. The road is quite narrow but this isn't a problem as you aren't likely to see many cars. The road surface is generally ok with the odd pot hole and rough patch but nothing that will cause a problem going up. Descenders might need to be on their toes. I'm scoring it 3/5 as it is worth a detour if you're in the area.
