The Steepest A road in the UK is of course really tough. The first section is incredibly tough with relentless gradients around 25% for almost 500m with the inside of the second corner being 30%+. Brutal! This steep part is all in the trees and then it starts to open up towards the top. Excellent views back towards Porlock Bay and Hurlstone Point at the top. Styles Ice Cream Van is parked in a big viewpoint car park near the top most days during the warmer months. Road Surface is good and smooth for UK standards. One of the busier roads in the area.
