Some very steep sections at the beginning but then very even. Still a lot of traffic for this road I found. If you have wider tyres and still energy left, you can continue on a very rough gravel road for a few kilometres. There you have a nice view of the Alps.... read more

The first part, as far as the hamlet of Savoyere, is mostly in the shade. The gradient is fairly constant, around 8% to 9%. At Savoyere you turn left to take the ascent to Saint Ange. The road winds its way up the mountainside and sometimes offers very fine views of the Grenoble Valley and Belledonne.

Did climb last summer. Sweltering hot day and this one is almost completely in forest. So nice climb when it's hot. At the top it becomes a dense dark forest on the edge of the Vercors. Start just out of the village very steep. Then constant but reasonable percentages as indicated in the cross section. Very quiet with an occasional car and cyclist. Occasional views but mostly forest. The end point was a bit of a search, no idea if I was already there, but at one point the tarmac stopped so that was the top.

Beklimming vorig jaar zomer gedaan.
