A hidden gem for good reason. The gradients change every metre making it a tricky climb. After 17km there is a wall of about 1.3km a 11%. This really hurts. After you cross a wild grid after 19km, it goes up steeply for another km or 2 after which you end up at a car park. There you have a great view. Unfortunately, you will have to descend the same way back again.... read more

Very nice climb.
Uneven on the first part, then very steep before the dam.
Small road, be careful on the way down with the cars that can arrive in faec.

The climb is pleasant because it's on a small road, it's magnificent and it's quiet! On the other hand, the difficulty is there, especially over the last few kilometres before the Laparan dam, with a wall to climb and the view of the dam from the very bottom, which can be discouraging. But the finish is worth it 1,000 times over - it's magnificent! The way back down is inevitably via the same route, which is a shame because it's hard to get down on a small road and you have to brake a lot. I'll do it again!

a magical single lane route up. relaxing until the 1st étang and the patches of gravel after that meant taking care. at the 2nd étang, the winds were ferocious so that together w the steep gradient, it was really hard work. last 4km are steep. misleading ave gradient last 3 kms due to short sections of downhill in there! wonderful twisty descent (just gotta watch the gravel). overall a stunning ride.
