Nice climb from Wenns. Fine runner that gets quite steep at the end. The summit is not very clearly marked, you'll find the nice view a bit further on. The descent to Prutz is lovely. Beautiful views and good tarmac.

Coming from Imst, the road is already about 7 kilometres uphill, covering some'250 altimeters. This goes over a big busy road, not directly recommended.

Mooi klim vanuit Wenns.

We are going to ride a stage from Oetz to NAuders with a group of 20 people. The plan is to ride from Arzl to the Pillerhohe. Is that road passable for cyclists? HEt looks like a busy road....

The last 2 km come unexpected, area becomes wilder and road narrower, nice end to a nice climb. Panoramic point on top is breathtaking, good Sachertorte at the cafe nearby (closed on Wedensday). Light traffic mostly tourist motorbikes. I found afternoon headwind.

The Pillerhöhe is a magnificent climb. The largest part is certainly not difficult. Only the last three kilometres are quite tough, but doable.
Right from the start, you are treated to views over the fields as you used to see them on postcards from Tyrol. About half way up, the landscape changes and you enter the woods. Here, for the first time, you also have some shade. Once at the top, the view is magnificent. Above the valley is a kind of platform where you can look through the entire valley. So beautiful that it is a bit 'sensory overload'.
The descent on the other side is beautiful. A kilometre or two after the top is a little fountain with stone-cold water.

This climb is also one of the 1000 from BIGcycling.eu. I did it from Wenns. Not a really difficult climb.
The other two sides are much harder. But if you come up from this side then there is a surprise at the top. The view is really phenomenal. One of the most beautiful panorama points in the Alps I dare say. If you are in the neighborhood you should definitely go up here.
