Then turn right towards the top. That last piece undulates a bit up and down but you do not gain much height. The top is not quite reachable because you stand at a certain point for a fence. Still fantastic views. Along the way some warnings that the road is forbidden to drive, but you will not see anyone. Well worth the effort!... read more

It's a very pleasant climb up Pic Bertagne, I really like the scenery. It's the highest point in the department, and the climb offers some serious, ultra-uneven gradients. At the end of the three difficult kilometres I arrived very out of breath (not as much as on the current profile, which has a bug in it). Don't worry about the sign that says you can't take this road, nothing will happen to you. On the contrary, enjoy the peace and quiet it provides.
One of the only passages over 1000m in altitude in the region. The climb is fairly short but with 5 passages at over 15%! The first part is sheltered under the forest, but past the gate, the road is uncovered at the foot of the cliff. In strong winds (often) the uncovered sections can be tricky because of the gusts. The view from the top is magnificent and well worth the effort. The condition of the road is fairly average, but nothing too disturbing.
