A very fun climb to do, the last bit can be pretty gnarly towards Pellenberg center on the rough coubles, all the way before is a bicycle path which isn't in really good quality but still a pretty fun climb and would recommend this one, it's definitely worth a detour.... read more

Quite a steep climb in the center of Pellenberg. Pellenberg is also known for its small but renowned hospital where some of the best Belgian surgeons operate on many top sportsmen from home and abroad (especially knee operations). But back to the climb where the first part is quite steep but on a busy road. There is a narrow bicycle path. To get to the church square you have to turn left and cross the busy road to do the last hundreds of metres on a very bad cobblestone and the cobblestones are disastrous (a bit like the Koppenberg) and at the top you have to turn right with another 150 metres of even worse cobblestones which make you seasick but give you a real Tour of Flanders or Paris-Roubaix feeling. Once at the top, you can turn left towards Meistraat and the descent to Linden where every climber can indulge himself because in a radius of 3 to 4 km you have at least 10 to 15 slopes including the toughest and steepest in the Hageland.

Rather narrow cycle path on the Ganzendries, but in good condition. Pellenberg will always be steep, no matter which way you go.
