Another hidden gem in the Euganean Hills, unknown to most but really not to be missed. You start in Cinto Euganeo, climbing up next to the church and already finding a gradient of around 10%. Then you continue towards Fonfanafredda but at the top instead of going downhill you turn right towards Località Santa Lucia, where the real climb begins. Varying gradients, a narrow road on good asphalt and an increasingly wooded setting make the ascent more and more fascinating. In the second half, after a left-hand bend, you face two hundred metres close to 15%, the hardest on the route. Then the panorama opens up and the last stretch is all in the sun until the finish near Villa Beatrice, located at the top of Mount Gemola. Continuing to the right, you descend towards Valle San Giorgio, while going straight ahead is the wonderful route up Monte Fasolo to the Mottolone plateau, an option reserved, however, for gravel or mountain bikes. All in all, a beautiful climb both from a panoramic and technical point of view and easy to find. I just hope I have not enticed too many tourists, that silence is one of the most beautiful characteristics of these places.
