Constant, moderately demanding ascent until 3 km from the end where it presents the steepest point but is short-lived.

The climb from Mezzano Scotti to Passo Crocetta is the least known of the other ways of reaching the passo. I attempted it during a sunny November day and I was pretty much alone for all the route except a few cars. I liked being immersed in nature and in the tranquility of the forest. The climb has some steep sections but nothing major. Watch out for the memorial to Costantino Girardengo in Schiavi.

This is one of the three possible climbs to the Crocetta Pass and definitely the most demanding. The road surface is not very well-maintained; there are a few more recent patches in places. In the hamlet of Schiavi, the last one encountered, a recently renovated house bears a beautiful plaque dedicated to the never-forgotten champion Girardengo.
All in all, an excellent workout.
