A good climb with mostly great roads. This is one of three routes up to the Passo del Bocco from the West. All share the same second half but there are variations on the beginning. I chose this one as I wanted to do the stated 1007VM climb. The climb is steepest in the beginning. Scenery is beautiful as you climb out of the valley.

The road was quiet and in good condition, though I noticed the higher I got the more the road deteriorated. Not a problem going up but if you come down the same way watch for gravel.

Just before midway there is descent on smooth bitumen through a Forrest. Stunning. This comes out onto the main road at a T intersection and a climb through a gorgeous town.

The final stretch turns right, off the main road. Up until then the surface is pristine. After that the surface becomes more broken and gravelly. This section of the ride is the least interesting. Views are obscured by trees and the road is bad.

I descended the other side of the mountain (as part of an 88km loop from Sestri Levante). This seems to be more of a logging road than anything. Still sealed but degraded. The road descends for 13kms and is patchy, gravelly in parts and unpredictable, so ride carefully.
