Getting to Passo dei Guselli from Carpaneto is a fairly long climb. The first KMs it runs fairly flat or with minor inclinations. The first real climb happens at Gropparello. A few switchbacks bring you in the town where you can also admire a castle. After the town there is a short descent, then the climb continues fairly regularly in the forest, through the fields and the small villages. The climb is very much gentle, there aren't any major gradients here but the road is fairly peaceful and the panoramas are spectacular. I was able to do this on Christmas Eve on a spectacular winter days, with the Alps visible in the distance behind me.

The road surface is not perfect but I had no problem descending even in winter.
