Forest and valley views on a deserted road, but also cycling through a green tunnel. Who wouldn't want that? The road surface is good enough. If you are in the region with a gravel bike or racer with 30+ mm tyres, then this climb should hardly be missing from a route: after the summit, you can choose from several beautiful gravel roads . Small downside: to get to the foot of the climb, you have to cross the lousy N road. Sometimes you have to wait a long time until there are no vehicles... read more

The climb even is fun, not too steep in beautiful surroundings. However, taking the gravel path immediately after the climb is highly recommended. At points it is so bad that your bike sinks into the loose sand. Moreover, it takes almost 1.5km before you encounter a paved road again.

Nice road from the N281 into the forest. The indicated climb is entirely asphalt but that stops at the end of the climb, the road continues as a mostly good (but in some places quite hard to ride because it's more rough there) gravel road. In the beginning nice view to the right. That disappears when you enter the green tunnel into the forest. At the end of the climb the forest on the left has a fairy-like character, at least it looks nice.
The climb is also beautiful in the fog. Then the tunnel of trees gives a nice atmosphere.
