I climbed it via the adjacent concrete cycle path(which was in fine condition) and it starts when you pass through the hamlet of Abenden. The climb runs all the way along a county road, which was not heavily used, but the scenery is green and rural. Halverwege krijg je nog een haarspeld- en S-bocht die net ff venijniger zijn, omdat je de binnenbocht neemt. Zodra je de huize van Nideggen ziet verschijnen komt het einde in zicht, even doortrekken naar de kapel aan de rechterkant en je bent boven.
