One of the many ways to climb the Heikantberg is via the steeper section, which is called 'the Wall'. Via the Heirbaan you take extra running metres that rise slightly, and then after a short "descent" take a right-angled right turn to the Olmendreef. The first metres here go up to 7 percent, but they soon level off. Through some short bends both rising and falling you arrive at the foot of 'the Wall' which you have to start from almost standstill.... read more

A nice and long climb in a beautiful environment and with a fantastic apotheosis " the wall of Heikant " one of the steepest parts in the entire Hageland. On the heir track from Betekom in this version you cycle on a quiet road. There's some cycle tourism and children playing but it's quiet. Once on top of the Heirbaan, you just go downhill for a while and then turn right into Olmendreef (if by accident you turned right one street too early, no problem because this road, Eikenlaan, also ends in Olmendreef and Bilberrylaan). ,
After 200 meters slightly uphill you turn left into the Bosbessenlaan which goes up and down (attention, these are very narrow roads). After good 200 meters the Bosbessenlaan turns into the Holleweg and here you have to turn sharp right and you see the monster of the Heikant that rises steeply, a real wall, and especially the second stage you can almost stand still (I did with my mount bike). The road is decent and only on the Heirbaan you'll meet a car now and then.
