Addition: just after passing the glider airfield and the small bridge over the railway line you'll find a water tap on the left (see picture). Outside the city of Nijmegen, this is one of the two public taps I know in this cycling region. The other is at the beginning of the Rijksstraatweg in Ubbergen near the Wylerbergermeer. Handy to know for long trips in the heat.

This is often a part of my routes and in beautiful surroundings. The climb is not really difficult.
Only the last part on the pedals

Four stars, because it is part of a fairly quiet and shady route from Nijmegen to the hinterland of Groesbeek, especially if you start south of the Radboud UMC on the bike path through the woods (Schutterspad, Witteweg, Bosweg). Lots of forest and free cycling paths everywhere. However, I advise you to avoid the bike path along the Biesseltsebaan until the junction with the old track Nijmegen-Kleve; the bike path is very narrow and often crowded with cyclists who drive a lot slower. As soon as the climb starts again you can just take the bike path (most people turn left in the direction of Groesbeek, you will ride through a very beautiful railway valley through the forest). When the bike path is not too busy during the climb, you can go loose on this runner. Via the Mooksebaan you can continue on the Knapheideweg towards for example the Reichswald, the Sint Jansberg or Boscafe Merlijn. By then you will have avoided large parts of the built-up area and you will have seen a glider airfield.
